Prohibitions, dimensions and guidelines in case of loss
Please refer to our dedicated Baggage Regulations section, where we provide clear instructions to ensure your safety and compliance when travelling to and from Milano Linate Airport.
For safety reasons, some categories of objects are not allowed on flights, including toy weapons, cutlery, knives and other potentially dangerous tools. For further information and to learn more about the regulations, we strongly recommend that you also consult the instructions provided by the airlines directly from their website.
Most airlines require that hand luggage weighs less than 5 kg. If you lose or damage your luggage, it is important to follow the procedures indicated. Attach a label with your personal details to your luggage and, in case of loss, contact your airline's Lost & Found office, located in the airport's customs area, to start the lost luggage procedure.
You will be provided with a PIR (Property Irregular Report) form to facilitate the process. Please consult this section to travel safely and securely to and from Milano Linate Airport.
FOR SECURITY REASONS, SOME ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON FLIGHTS
The European Commission is temporarily reimplementing restrictions on liquids, aerosols and gels carried by passengers in their cabin baggage. Starting from 1st September 2024, the maximum allowed size of individual liquid containers is set to 100 ml.
You can leave liquids in containers of under 100ml and electronic devices in your luggage.
SIZE AND LOSS
Dimensions of hand luggage
For most airlines, the weight of hand luggage must be less than 5kg.
We recommend that you consult the airline's hand luggage weight and dimensions guidelines.
What to do in case of loss
It is strongly recommended to affix a label on the baggage indicating name, surname, telephone number, address and flight number.
If your baggage is lost or damaged, you can contact your airline's lost & found office.
The lost & found offices are located in the customs area of the airport, near the baggage reclaim area. You will be issued a PIR (Property Irregular Report) form useful for opening the loss case.
